There is nothing quite like the aroma of fresh bread baking in the oven. Earlier this evening the Lord reminded me of the homemade bread I used to make for my family years ago.
When all the ingredients were mixed together with the yeast, the bowl of dough was covered with a cloth and set aside. It was during this time of waiting that the bread would rise, becoming ready to place in the oven for baking.
As these thoughts came to mind, I heard, “It is during the waiting that I come to you. It is during the waiting that you are strengthened so that you can rise up to run without growing weary, to walk and not faint. I may give insight to a particular Scripture. I may remind you of a Bible promise. I may speak to you like I am doing now. But during the waiting you will always be refreshed; I will fill you with My love as well as My inexplicable joy.”
As I spent time just being with Him, it was just as He promised. I was strengthened, and filled with His love, His peace and His joy.
He longs to do the same for you. He is inviting you to set aside a few minutes to spend with Him now. He is faithful to do what He promised.
“But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles.
They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint.” ~ Isaiah 40:31
