Door of Access

Door of Access

In John 10, Jesus tells us that He is the door. That means Jesus is the means of access to all God has for you. Let’s take a look at a few things available to you through Christ:

1. HIMSELF. In John 14:6, Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Jesus gives us access to the Father Himself. The greatest thing God could give you and me is Himself – His Presence. When Jesus is your Savior, God is your Father. You have access to your Heavenly Father any time and all the time. You can talk to Him any time, any place about anything. He is always ready to listen – and to give you His best answer.

2. SALVATION. Jesus is the door or the way to salvation, for He said, “I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved …” John 10:9a. Receiving SALVATION is as easy as A, B, C. First you must be willing to Admit you have disobeyed God. God calls disobedience sin. Sin deserves punishment. Next, you must Believe Christ took your punishment when He died on the cross and came back to life again. Lastly, you must Choose Jesus Christ to be your Savior and give Him your life by following Him. To do this, you can pray the following prayer:

“Dear Lord Jesus, I know I have sinned and deserve punishment. I believe You died on the cross in my place and came back to

life again. I ask You to come into my life and take away my sin. I give you my life. I choose to follow You. Thank you, Lord, for

taking away my sin. Thank you I am now a child of God. Amen.”

3. NOURISHMENT. Jesus continued, “…and will go in and out and find pasture” John 10:9b. Pasture for sheep is the place to find food and water. In John 6:35 Jesus said, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.” Jeremiah said of God’s Word, “Your words were found, and I ate them. And Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart” Jeremiah 15:16. Jesus is the door to nourishment that fully satisfies.

4. THE PROMISES OF GOD.  In 2 Corinthians 1:20 we read, “For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.” That means you have access to all of God’s promises through the Lord Jesus Christ. How many God promises can you name? You have access to all of them through Christ.

5. OPPORTUNITY. In Revelation 3:8 we read, “I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name.” God knows there are doors of opportunity which you cannot open for yourself; however, He can open doors that others don’t even know are there. Has the Lord given you a dream? Do you have deep desires that only He can fulfill? Trust Him. Commit your dreams and desires to Him. He can bring them to pass. One thing I have learned from  living so many years – there is NOTHING too difficult for the Lord. He is for you. You can fully trust Him! He is your door of access.

Next time we will talk about the Door of Protection.

Be blessed!
